Hilary's Visit to Australia 2004

Hilary is fossicking for boulder opal. From the outside you cannot tell if there is good opal inside a rock, so we used a hammer to crack them open. The actual mine is quite a ways outside of Quilpie, but they dump some rocks near Quilpie for the tourists to try. We seemed to be the only tourists in town as it was so hot at the end of November.
