Angkor Wat, Cambodia
This was a large statue of Vishnu, to whom Angkor was originally dedicated. After Angkor was converted to a Theravada Buddhist Wat ("wat" is the Thai word for "temple") in the 16th century the head of this statue was replaced with a representation of Buddha's head. Now Buddhists bring offerings, burn incense, and pray before this recycled statue.
