Kava Preparation

The pounded kava is ceremoniously wrapped in a cloth and repeatedly dipped into the water and squeezed. This makes a sort of "herbal tea" without too much of the vegetable matter in the drink. Notice the kava bowl is made from a plastic buoy, probably found on the beach.
