Banda Spices

Our friend Badaria made us two kinds of nutmeg fruit candy. In the center of the photo are fresh nutmegs with the mace still on them. The mace is red until it dries. We purchased the earrings and necklace in Grenada (in the Caribbean) where they were made with nutmegs which have white mace. Nina wore these often, and the women were really fascinated. An entrepreneur friend thought it would be good to market similar jewelry to Banda's tourists.
