Kanongnga (Uakeia's Daughter) Cleaning Moray Eel

At Numatong Island we were visited by eel fishermen, and Uakeia persuaded them to part with one of their catch so we could taste it. The Moray had a layer of fat next to its skin, which the locals considered a delicacy. We liked the meat okay, but not the fat.
