Hospital

This is the hospital south of Matang Village. The patients live in the open-sided thatch buildings. The small building in the center is the office with all the medicines and supplies. The patients are fed and taken care of by their families. The staff consists of one medic, who probably does not have too much medical training. A short-wave radio permits conversations with physicians in Tarawa, where patients fly if they need extra treatment.
