Misty Hills Above Rice Fields

Vang Vieng had flat land beside a river, so it grew rice. Rice terraces were found even in the hills, as people tried to grow enough food for their families. Beyond these fields were limestone karst hills with many caves. We rode our rented bicycles through this rice field to Luci Cave.
