Canoe From Misima Island

This large outrigger canoe arrived from Misima Island (about 100 miles away) during our visit to Giglia. This was done without a motor, charts or instruments, just as it has been done for centuries. They brought yam seedlings which the villagers will plant and depend on for next season's food. The Misima people wanted cash for the seedlings, and we provided some of that by buying baggis.
