Pascal Drills a Hole

Pascal's drill was a clever bit of engineering. He fastens a modern steel drill bit to the end of a stick, and then pumps the crosspiece up and down. The strings from crosspiece to top of stick wind and unwind as he pumps. The disc provides additional momentum.
