Small Boat and Big Cloud

This small fishing boat is typical of the multitude we saw every day using nets, traps, and hand lines to get fish. The huge cloud looming in the background is not unusual. Thunderstorms are common, and storms known as "Sumatras" roar across the Strait of Malacca with strong winds. The local fishermen have to keep a watchful eye on the weather, and so do cruising sailors.
