The municipal bus system in Penang is excellent. The buses are modern, air-conditioned, clean, inexpensive and frequent. The main bus terminal (shown) is right next to the marina so we had no problems starting out or returning home to our boat. We walked everywhere in Georgetown but for longer expeditions we used buses. We even used these buses for our hour-long trips from and to the airport terminal.
