On Dorothy and Dan's last day in Penang we walked for a few hours in the Botanical Gardens which were established in the 19th century and cover 592 hectares. There are a large number of interesting trees and other plants there, and we saw many of them in flower. "Cannonball Trees" have lovely red and white flowers and develop hard round fruit which become as large as cannon balls.
