The Garuda is a very important figure in Buddhist mythology as the "King of the Birds." We saw this representation at the Burmese Buddhist Wat which houses a tall standing Buddha and many other images. Across the street we visited Wat Chaiyamangkalaran whose 33 meter long reclining Buddha is said to be the third longest in the world.
