Coconut Express

This little karkar had a bag of copra as cargo. The boys spent the day gathering ripe coconuts, splitting them and filling the bag with the white meat. Back home, the coconut meat may have become one of the main ingredients in their evening meal. Fish and coconuts have been the staples of atoll dwellers for centuries.
