Jumping Cats and Trainer

Nga Hpe Chaung is now known as the "Jumping Cat Monastery." Several years ago one of the monks taught one of the cats to jump through a hoop. This became a tourist sensation and got into all the guidebooks as a "must see." After several years it was deemed inappropriate for a monk to put on shows for tourists, so a non-monk became the cat trainer. The original jumping cat died and he started training substitutes. We saw him working with several cats, some better trained than others.
