Nan Paya Brahma and Lotus

Inside the Nan Paya were several sandstone carvings. This one represented three-faced Brahma, the Hindu god of creation, holding lotus flowers which may have been offerings to Buddha. Some believed this was originally a Hindu shrine, but recent research indicated it was constructed in the late 11th century after Bagan had become Buddhist.
