Bamboo Raft

We saw many bamboo rafts, some much larger than this one, moving slowly downriver with the current and some paddling. The crews lived aboard for the journey of several days. The whole raft would be broken up and sold at the end of its passage. This was simply an inexpensive method of getting bamboo from source to market.
