The fireworks started at sundown on New Year's Eve in Manila. The rockets went up from all parts of the city all night long. It was an amazing display. We watched from the top of Jennifer's apartment building. The awesome number of explosions created a big cloud of smoke, which was fortunately blown away by a light breeze. The newspapers recorded many injuries and fires caused by fireworks.
