Longboat That Just Finished Race

One of the Teuila Festival highlights was the longboat race, for which crowds lined the shore of Apia Harbour. These boats had forty rowers each, plus a drummer to keep them in sync and a commander who steered and yelled as necessary. Some teams showed evidence of considerable practice, and moved their boats swiftly over the course.
