Sule Pagoda is in the middle of a roundabout where two major streets cross in the center of Yangon. It is said to enshrine a sacred hair of the Buddha, and may be 2000 years old but nobody really knows. It has been rebuilt and repaired many times during many centuries in this earthquake-prone land and remains an important landmark.
