The King of Tonga is Taufa'ahau Tupou IV. He used to be very tall and very heavy but has lost a lot of weight. One evening we and the crew of "Jakaranda" fixed dinner for the King's wife, Halaevalu Kata'aho. She is well-educated, well-traveled, and involved in many business and charitable activities. Most Tongans seem to have great respect for the King and his family.
